Job Summary

As a founding leadership member, the Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO) will define and execute the product and technology charter while scaling the digital lending ecosystem. The ideal candidate will combine strategic product thinking with hands-on technical depth to build a robust, secure, and scalable platform that transforms credit delivery. This role involves working directly with the founders to define the company’s product vision, technology roadmap, and execution strategy — ensuring innovation, speed, and reliability across all product lines.

Responsibilities

  • Product Leadership:

    • Define and execute the product vision, roadmap, and strategy aligned with business goals.
    • Translate customer insights, data, and market trends into innovative lending products and experiences.
    • Partner with Risk, Credit, and Operations teams to build customer-centric credit journeys including onboarding, verification, disbursal, collections, and repayment.
    • Drive experimentation across lending funnels to improve conversion, credit performance, and retention.
    • Establish clear product metrics such as activation, NPS (Net Promoter Score), and portfolio performance, ensuring data-driven prioritization.
  • Technology Leadership:

    • Oversee the architecture and development of a scalable, secure, and compliant lending platform.
    • Lead the design of core systems including loan origination, credit decisioning, payment gateways, collections, and partner integrations.
    • Own the full tech stack encompassing backend languages (C++, Go, Python, Java), frontend technologies (React, Next.js), and infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
    • Implement best practices for system performance, reliability, data privacy, and compliance with regulations such as RBI norms and PCI-DSS standards.
    • Champion modular architecture to enable rapid new product launches.
  • Leadership & Culture:

    • Build and mentor high-performing teams in product, engineering, and design.
    • Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and technical excellence.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Marketing teams to deliver business outcomes.
    • Scale agile processes, OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), and product governance to support rapid growth.

Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • 12+ years of experience in product and technology roles, ideally in fintech, lending, or payments sectors.
    • Proven track record of building lending products (consumer or SME) from ideation to scale.
    • Hands-on understanding of credit systems, KYC (Know Your Customer), collections, bureau integrations, and compliance requirements.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong technical background with experience in modern microservices architecture, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and data systems.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Strategic thinker capable of balancing speed, innovation, and reliability.
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in digital lending platforms and familiarity with regulatory frameworks for NBFCs.

Experience

  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in product and technology roles.
