Job Summary

The Solace Engineer will be an integral part of the Middleware Engineering team. This role focuses on engineering and configuration activities for Solace messaging systems, providing essential support for various messaging infrastructures and ensuring optimal performance and security.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering, configuration, and administration activities for Solace messaging.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate Solace with microservices, APIs, and external platforms such as Kafka, JMS, and MQTT.
• Architect and deploy messaging infrastructure using Solace PubSub+ / Advanced Event Mesh across cloud environments.
• Define and implement event-driven strategies, leveraging Solace features like event mesh, topic hierarchies, and dynamic routing.
• Configure Solace components such as brokers, VPNs, queues, topics, and client connections for optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot complex messaging issues including latency, throughput, and durability concerns.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years of total experience with 1-2 years in Solace.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in Solace Messaging.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS (preferred).
  • Strong scripting skills in Korn Shell Scripts, Perl, etc.
  • Familiarity with TIBCO, IBM MQ, and IBM ACE (nice to have).
  • Knowledge of EKS, Kubernetes, or OpenShift is a plus.
  • AWS certifications on DevOps, SysOps, or Architect track are preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Terraform and Ansible for automation.
• Strong knowledge of RedHat Linux platforms.
• Ability to conduct research on product capabilities and perform POCs for new products/features.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of overall IT experience.
• At least 1-2 years of hands-on experience with Solace Messaging.
