Job Summary

The Technical Lead will be responsible for overseeing the core business layer in the Flows team which handles rule assessments at a massive scale. This role plays a crucial part in meeting service-level agreements (SLAs) by ensuring billions of events are ingested and rule assessments are completed within approximately two minutes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Flows team to manage and optimize rule assessment processes in a high-scale environment.
• Develop and implement data-driven KPIs to monitor performance metrics such as Transactions Per Second (TPS) and Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR).
• Utilize Java for application development, ensuring a strong focus on hands-on programming and technical execution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate streaming technologies such as Apache Flink and Kafka when applicable.
• Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on best practices for software development and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience: 8-10 years of relevant technical experience; candidates with 7 years and 9-10 months will be considered; 7 years and 1 month is not acceptable.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Java (50-60%+ of professional experience should involve Java development).
  • Familiarity with streaming technologies, although not mandatory (Apache Flink, Kafka).
• Data Awareness: Proven ability to think in terms of data-driven results; must demonstrate this through resume metrics and accomplishments.
• Industry Background: Experience in product companies preferred, particularly in SaaS, Martech, Consumer Tech, or Enterprise product areas. Gaming backgrounds are acceptable if Java and product criteria are met.
• Education: A Bachelor of Technology (BTech) is preferred; no requirement for a tier-1 college background.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a hands-on individual contributor role is essential; candidates with recent management experience will be deprioritized.
• Interest in either Engineering Management (EM) or Technical Architecture (TA) career paths after the Technical Lead role.

Experience

• 8-10 years of overall experience in software development, with an emphasis on hands-on roles.
