Job Title: Assistant Manager / Regulatory Executive Location: Lower Parel Reports to: Lead Manager - Regulatory & Compliance Job Summary: The Regulatory Executive (Food and Licensing) will oversee compliance with food safety regulations, manage licenses, and ensure adherence to relevant industry standards. This role involves monitoring regulatory changes, handling documentation for food/Nutra products, and securing necessary approvals and permits to operate legally in different markets. Key Responsibilities: 1. Regulatory Compliance: o Ensure compliance with local, national, and international food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, FSSAI, EU Food Laws, etc.). o Stay updated on regulatory changes in food safety, labeling, and packaging regulations. o Oversee the implementation of food safety management systems (HACCP, GMP, etc.) within the organization. 2. Licensing and Permits: o Manage and renew all licenses, certifications, and permits required for food production, import/export, and distribution. o Work with government authorities and agencies to ensure timely issuance of permits (e.g., health department, food safety authorities, etc.). 3. Documentation and Labeling: o Ensure accurate and compliant labeling of food/Nutra products, including nutritional information, ingredients, and allergen declarations. o Maintain detailed records and documentation required for audits and inspections. 4. Stakeholder Management: o Serve as the point of contact between the company and regulatory authorities, including addressing inquiries. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, quality assurance) to ensure compliance with food safety regulations. 5. Training and Awareness: o Conduct training sessions for staff on regulatory and food safety requirements. o Ensure employees are aware of updates to food laws and licensing regulations. 6. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, Law, or related field. • 4 + years of experience in regulatory affairs. • Familiarity with food safety standards and licensing regulations (FDA, FSSAI, EFSA, etc.). • Experience with food/Nutra labeling requirements and nutritional regulations. • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. 7. Skills: • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Knowledge of international food regulations is a plus. 8. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): • Timeliness of license renewals and compliance submissions. • Accuracy and compliance of product labeling and packaging. • Successful completion of regulatory audits without major non-compliance findings. • Reduced incidents of regulatory non-compliance or penalties.
