Job Summary
The Financial Controller will manage Fleetx's financial records, compliance, and daily accounting operations. Reporting directly to the VP – Finance, this role calls for a blend of accounting expertise and a systems-driven mindset to develop scalable, audit-ready processes within a rapidly expanding environment.
Responsibilities

Accounting, Reporting & Month-End Close:
- Manage end-to-end accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR), Payroll, and Fixed Assets, ensuring compliance with Ind AS.
- Drive the timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
- Monitor cash bank reconciliations and working capital movements; support treasury operations including banking relationships, debt facilities, and liquidity planning.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the Statement of Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement, and aid the VP – Finance with management and investor reporting.

ERP & Financial Systems Management:
- Serve as the finance lead for the ERP system (NetSuite / Zoho Books or equivalent), overseeing module governance, configuration, and daily operations.
- Drive automation of accounting and reporting workflows like bank reconciliations, invoice processing, payroll journals, and period-close checklists.
- Maintain data integrity across financial systems; enforce master data governance standards.

Audit, Internal Controls & Tax Compliance:
- Coordinate with statutory and tax auditors to ensure timely audit closure and implement recommendations.
- Design and sustain a robust internal control framework (IFC/ICFR) to ensure financial integrity, including periodic control testing and addressing gaps promptly.
- Ensure full compliance with GST, TDS/TCS, advance tax, and income tax requirements.

Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the core accounting and compliance team.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
- Establish clear KPIs for the team; conduct regular performance reviews and identify opportunities for development.
Qualifications
- Educational Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) with 10–14 years of post-qualification experience; startup/SaaS/tech exposure preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Ind AS, GST, and direct taxation.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite / Zoho Books or equivalent); experience with implementations or migrations is advantageous.
- Proven ability to drive process automation and enhance accounting efficiency.
- Experience managing statutory and tax audits end-to-end, with a solid understanding of internal control frameworks (IFC/ICFR).
- High attention to detail, ownership mentality, and capability to work under tight timelines.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions (business, IT, legal, external stakeholders).
