Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

To act as the overall in-charge of the financial control. He/she is expected to play a leadership role and provide effective support in achieving the objective of the company

Planning

  1. Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
  2. Prepare, monitor, and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
  3. Manage the debt and equity capital raising processes
  4. Develop and track KPIs that support the company's strategic direction

Operations

  1. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
  2. Maintain in-depth relations and liaise with all members of the management team
  3. Manage the accounting, legal & tax audits, diligences, regulatory reporting, etc
  4. Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations
  5. Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced
  6. Presentation of detailed financial performance against budgets and other key metrics on a monthly basis
  7. Manage cashflows and maintain adequate liquidity position of the company

Financial Information

  1. Oversee the issuance of financial information to internal and external stakeholders
  2. Prepare, report, and publish financial results as required under various regulations
  3. Prepare financial dashboards and reports for segment level/ product level analysis

Risk Management

  1. Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
  2. Construct and monitor reliable control systems
  3. Use data analytics and other tools to pre-empt risk to portfolio quality
  4. Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Please be aware that a Financial Controller requires extensive experience. Typical qualifications for roles include:

  • A Chartered Accountant with minimum of 15-20 years, experience in a senior role.
  • CA Qualification is mandatory.
  • Up to date knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications.
  • Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence – ability to motivate staff.
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Great ability in Stake-holder Management
