Job Summary
The Creative Head / Head Designer will assume a pivotal leadership role in overseeing the design department. This role requires a visionary who can harmonize creative aspirations with the practical demands of the market, ensuring that all designs resonate with European standards and buyer expectations. The successful candidate will spearhead the aesthetic direction of the company while driving performance targets through data-backed range planning.
Responsibilities

Strategic Trend Leadership
- Lead comprehensive research using platforms such as WGSN, Vogue Runway, and competitive brand studies.
- Precisely shortlist trends that align with specific European buyers’ signatures.
- Create and present seasonal trend direction reports; brief the design team to ensure alignment with the global fashion calendar.
- Develop sophisticated Women’s wear stories, concept boards, and specialized Capsule Collections for Beach Dresses.

Range Planning & Performance (KPI Driven)
- Develop ranges based on previous season sales analytical reports to ensure commercial viability.
- Achieve a 30% order conversion and a 75% selection rate for proposed designs.
- Generate post-season analytical reports based on buyer selections to refine future strategies.
- Ensure all designs are engineered to meet the specific price points and technical requirements of European buyers.

Design, Technical & Sampling Oversight
- Oversee the end-to-end development of Women’s and Kids' wear, ensuring European quality benchmarks are met.
- Directly handle and resolve technical issues during sample development to ensure production readiness.
- Oversee CAD creations, print research, and technical illustrations.
- Monitor sample photoshoots and maintain the aesthetic decorum of the showroom.

Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Lead new fabric sourcing initiatives and conduct strategic meetings with suppliers to stay ahead of material trends.
- Direct the team on new print design research and development.

Buyer & Merchandising Liaison
- Prepare high-level buyer presentations and lead buyer meetings with a focus on sell-through potential.
- Conduct timely meetings with the Merchandising team to discuss order conversions of promo samples and production feasibility.
- Ensure rigorous follow-up on buyer requirements and sample submission timelines.
Qualifications
- Experience: 8–15 years in a reputed Export House with a proven track record of handling major European accounts.
- Market Insight: Deep knowledge of European sizing, silhouettes, seasonal palettes, and compliance standards.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage, mentor, and inspire a design team in a fast-paced environment.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required; knowledge of 3D software (CLO 3D or Browzwear) is highly preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to read sales data and translate it into successful design ranges.
- Educational Background: Relevant degree in Fashion Design or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Additional experience with sustainable fashion practices.
- Familiarity with international fashion trade regulations.
- Networking capabilities within the European fashion market.
Experience
- 8–15 years of relevant experience, specifically within an Export House framework, with a strong emphasis on European market dealings.
Environment
- Location: Mumbai, India
- Work Schedule: Office timings are from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with working days from Monday to Saturday.
