Job Summary

The Ecom Tech Lead will serve as a pivotal figure in overseeing the technical aspects of eCommerce applications, focusing on providing exceptional service and support. This role emphasizes a full landscape overview of eCommerce subsystems to ensure optimal performance, functionality, and customer satisfaction. The Ecom Tech Lead will leverage extensive experience to enhance processes, manage incidents, and drive technical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical operations of eCommerce applications, ensuring system health, monitoring, and performance for maximum reliability.
  • Provide Level 3 (L3) support, managing incident response, leading bridge calls, and conducting post-incident reviews to identify root causes and recommend improvements.
  • Troubleshoot issues across the full eCommerce stack, applying problem-solving skills from both front-end and back-end perspectives.
  • Manage incident management processes, including communication with key stakeholders regarding ongoing incidents and resolutions.
  • Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and minimize manual interventions.
  • Proactively identify risks to technical and operational processes and recommend effective mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 8+ years of industry experience, with a minimum of 5+ years in the eCommerce domain.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Node.js development.
    • Experience with eCommerce platforms such as Shopify, ATG, HCL Commerce, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC).
    • Knowledge of AWS and cloud technologies.
    • Familiarity with Typescript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
    • Understanding of production support processes, specifically focusing on L3 support.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues and suggest improvements.
  • Solid grasp of event-driven composable commerce architecture.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with package business components like Bloomreach (for search), CMS tools, and payment gateways.
  • Exposure to observability platforms such as New Relic, Datadog, and AWS CloudWatch.
  • Familiarity with holiday readiness processes and support during peak operational times.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the technology and eCommerce industry, with extensive exposure to complex systems and architectures.

Environment

The position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in work location while maintaining accessibility for team collaboration and support activities.
