Job Summary

The Sr IT Data Analyst will perform comprehensive data analysis within data warehouse and operational environments to support the Optum business. This role involves defining and maintaining business intelligence methodologies, standards, and best practices. You will collaborate with the Development and QA teams to establish efficient data delivery solutions and create a comprehensive Data Dictionary, ensuring accurate documentation of data elements and their utilization.

Responsibilities

• Gather business requirements for analytical applications using an iterative/agile development model, working closely with Business and IT stakeholders.
• Create source-to-target mappings based on defined requirements.
• Develop rules definitions, perform data profiling, and outline transformation logic.
• Prepare analyses from internal and external sources to assess program effectiveness and efficiency, addressing various problems.
• Support Data Governance initiatives, ensuring data integrity across the organization.
• Develop scalable reporting processes and query data sources for ad hoc analyses and thorough data profiling.
• Investigate complex functional data and analytical issues, providing solutions and insights.
• Take responsibility for data integrity and quality across internal teams and with external partners.
• Conduct source system analysis and perform gap analysis between source and target systems.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in healthcare business and data analysis.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in SQL and familiar with data modeling and storage concepts, particularly Snowflake.
  • Strong aptitude for rapidly learning new data flows and participating in discussions on data quality and automation.
  • Comfortable working as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to educate data consumers on data profiles and issues.
  • Capable of assuming end-to-end responsibility for promptly resolving data issues in production settings.
  • Knowledge of Data Platforms, Data as a Service model, and DataOps practices.
• Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Working knowledge of Kafka, Databricks, GitHub, Airflow, and Azure is highly preferred.
• Experience with Healthcare Industry Claims and Eligibility.
• Proficiency in writing Python scripts.
• Understanding of AI models and their applications in data analysis.

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in healthcare data analysis and business intelligence.

Environment

• This position is primarily remote, with the expectation to be present in any of HCL's offices (Noida, Gurgaon, Indore, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai) for 1-2 days each month.
• Shift Timing: 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM.

Salary

• Estimated salary is $120,000 annually.
