Job Description: Head of Finance

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance to join our
startup as a key member of the leadership team. The ideal candidate should have a strong
background in finance, particularly with expertise in controllership, investor reporting, and
financial planning. Holding a CA qualification is essential for this role. As the Head of
Finance, you will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining the financial integrity of
our organisation while actively contributing to strategic decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
● Controllership:
● Oversee all aspects of financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance,
and transparency.
● Establish and enforce internal controls and processes to safeguard financial
assets and data.
● Monitor financial transactions, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end
closings.
● Lead the preparation of financial statements and reports, adhering to
accounting standards.
● Ensure up-to-date awareness of tax regulations and evolving laws for
compliance and reduced tax liabilities; oversee tax planning, filing, and
reporting, collaborating with external advisors as necessary.
● Supervise internal audit for control, risk, and compliance; manage external
audit coordination, including annual process; execute improvements from
audit recommendations to enhance financial operations.

● Investor Reporting:
● Develop and manage comprehensive investor reporting processes, providing
accurate and timely financial updates.
● Collaborate with external stakeholders, addressing investor queries and
requests professionally.
● Prepare investor presentations, financial summaries, and performance
analyses.
● Financial Planning:
● Lead the creation and implementation of financial planning strategies,
including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modelling.
● Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
based on financial projections.
● Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to drive
business growth.

● Compliance:
● Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and
accounting standards.
● Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and assess their impact
on the organisation.
● Coordinate with auditors and regulatory authorities for audits and financial
reviews
● Team Leadership:
● Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team, fostering a collaborative and
high-performance work environment.
● Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to team
members.

Qualifications:

● Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is a must.
● Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in finance roles, proven experience
in managing financial operations, internal controls, and compliance.
● Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder
engagement.
● Experience in startups or dynamic environments is a plus.
