Job Summary

The Azure Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data engineering solutions within the Azure cloud environment. The role involves the development of robust ETL/ELT pipelines and managing big data processing using various tools and methodologies. This position is crucial for improving data reliability and accessibility for business intelligence and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse.
• Work with big data processing approaches and schema-on-read methodologies.
• Conduct data modeling and design data architecture for various data solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure the integrity of data across multiple systems.
• Optimize data storage solutions and query performance using Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen 2).
• Implement reporting solutions and dashboards using tools such as Power BI and Tableau.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Advanced SQL.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Databricks (PySpark).
  • Knowledge of Azure Synapse is an added advantage.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL; experience with Power BI DAX is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Knowledge of data wrangling and data transformation approaches.

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, specifically within Azure environments.

Environment

• Remote work arrangement with operational hours from 11 AM to 8 PM.
