Job Summary
The Assistant Fund Manager (APM) will support the Senior Portfolio Manager within the Mutual Fund/Special Investment Fund structure. The role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with analytical skills, tasked with producing effective portfolio management strategies and contributing to the generation of alpha through factor investing and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Generate long/short investment ideas through fundamental, quantitative, and factor-based research.
- Build and maintain financial models; assist with portfolio construction and rebalancing.
- Design and implement factor strategies such as value, quality, momentum, low volatility, growth, and size.
- Conduct factor attribution, performance analysis, and monitor market regime shifts.
- Utilize derivatives for volatility trading, hedging, and strategy execution including options, futures, and spreads.
- Evaluate special situations including corporate actions, distressed investment opportunities, and event-driven trades.
- Ensure compliance with fund risk limits and SEBI Mutual Fund/Special Investment Fund regulations.
- Prepare portfolio reports, conduct performance attribution, and aid in client communication.
Qualifications
- Educational Qualification: MBA (Finance) or CA, CFA is desirable.
- Strong modeling skills in quantitative analysis; proficiency in Bloomberg.
- NISM certifications are a plus.
- Total experience of 10 years with at least 3 years in fund management.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Mutual Funds (MF), Special Investment Funds (SIF), Alternative Investment Funds (AIF) Category III, or Hedge Funds.
- Proven track record in managing factor-based portfolios.
- Familiarity with Indian market microstructure and derivatives taxation.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
Experience
- A minimum of 7-10 years overall experience, with at least 3 years specifically in portfolio management.

The position is located in Kalina, Mumbai, and is expected to operate in a professional office setting conducive to analytical work and collaboration within the investments team.
