Job Summary

The Area Business Manager will be responsible for overseeing pharmaceutical sales operations within a designated area, focusing on managing a team of sales professionals. This role aims to achieve sales targets and drive market growth through effective team management, strategic planning, and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a sales team to achieve assigned sales targets and objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to maximize market penetration and product awareness.
  • Monitor team performance and provide coaching, training, and support to enhance capabilities and achieve business goals.
  • Conduct regular market analysis and competitor assessments to identify opportunities and threats within the area.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business objectives and improve overall sales processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-20 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, with a proven track record of team management.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
  • Proficient in using sales analytics and CRM software to monitor performance and manage relationships.

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced degree (MBA or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience with digital marketing strategies and tools.
  • Knowledge of specific therapeutic areas or product lines relevant to the company's portfolio.

Experience

  • Candidates should have 5 to 20 years of relevant experience, particularly in managing sales teams in the pharmaceutical industry.

Environment

  • Typically works in an office environment with frequent travel to meet clients and monitor team performance across the assigned area.
