Job Summary
The Senior Manager – Business Development will be responsible for driving strategic business growth across the company’s specialty chemicals portfolio, which includes fine chemicals, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), pharmaceutical intermediates, custom manufacturing opportunities, and electronic chemicals. The role entails identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, expanding the market, supporting commercialization initiatives, and driving revenue growth through both domestic and international business development efforts.
Responsibilities

Business Development & Growth
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new business opportunities across electronic chemicals, specialty chemicals, APIs, and intermediates.
- Drive revenue growth through strategic customer acquisition and business expansion initiatives.
- Develop short-term and long-term business development strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives.
- Build and maintain a robust business opportunity pipeline.

Market Development
- Expand the business presence in domestic and international markets.
- Identify emerging market opportunities, customer segments, product applications, and strategic partnerships.
- Conduct market intelligence studies on industry trends, competition, pricing, and customer requirements.

Customer Relationship Management
- Build and manage strategic relationships with key customers, partners, distributors, and technology stakeholders.
- Engage with specialty chemical customers, semiconductor/electronics customers, pharmaceutical companies, and allied industrial customers.
- Lead customer discussions for business acquisition, product introduction, and account development.

Commercial & Strategic Execution
- Lead techno-commercial discussions, proposal development, pricing negotiations, and contract closures.
- Support the development of commercial models aligned with profitability expectations.
- Drive key account growth and long-term business retention strategies.

Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance (QA), Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Projects, and Technical teams for successful business execution.
- Support product commercialization, customer approvals, qualification activities, scale-up discussions, and business transitions.

Strategic Partnerships
- Identify and develop strategic alliances, distribution channels, licensing opportunities, and collaboration models.
- Explore Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) / Contract Research and Manufacturing Services (CRAMS) / custom manufacturing opportunities aligned with company capabilities.

Management Reporting
- Prepare periodic business development Management Information Systems (MIS), pipeline reports, revenue forecasts, opportunity tracking, and market updates for management review.
Qualifications

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- MBA in Marketing, Strategy, or International Business is preferred.

Skills:
- Strong business development experience in the specialty chemicals sector.
- Mandatory exposure to the Electronic Chemicals business.
- Good understanding of APIs and the pharmaceutical intermediates business ecosystem.
- Strong techno-commercial negotiation and contract management capabilities.
- Experience in both domestic and international B2B markets.
- Ability to engage with senior customer stakeholders and drive strategic discussions.
