Job Summary

The Observability Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing observability solutions that enhance application performance and infrastructure health. This role is crucial for ensuring that monitoring tools integrate seamlessly within development and operations teams and contribute to achieving the organization's goals in operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain observability solutions using AWS and Dynatrace to monitor application performance and infrastructure health.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to define observability requirements and ensure seamless integration of monitoring tools.
  • Develop and manage dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide insights into system performance and user experience.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues by analyzing logs, metrics, and traces to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
  • Optimize existing monitoring frameworks to enhance visibility across cloud environments and applications.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in observability, cloud technologies, and performance monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of proven experience as an Observability Engineer or in a similar role with a strong focus on AWS services.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in AWS Ecosystem – EKS, EC2, DynamoDB, Lambda, etc.
    • Profound experience with Dynatrace (or similar monitoring tools).
    • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, microservices, containers, and serverless computing.
    • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with additional observability tools aside from Dynatrace.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of industry standards for application performance monitoring.

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in observability, monitoring, or similar roles, with a proven track record in using cloud services and performance monitoring tools.
