Job Summary

The Finance Manager will serve as the key financial leader within the organization, acting as the primary interface between the founder and the finance team. The role involves managing the finance and accounting functions, ensuring accurate data entry, overseeing MIS and reporting, and bringing discipline and structure to the finance operations. The position offers an opportunity to build and scale the finance function as the company grows, contributing to strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a 5-member finance and accounting team, providing guidance and oversight.
• Ensure timely and accurate accounting entries, data management, and compliance.
• Own the Management Information System (MIS) and prepare basic financial reports.
• Develop a deep understanding of business numbers to support strategic decision-making.
• Ask insightful business and finance questions to identify areas for improvement.
• Implement discipline, structure, and process improvements within the finance function.
• Review team work, streamline processes, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Act as the finance counterpart to the founder at a mid-management level.
• Contribute to building and scaling the finance function as the business expands.
• Collaborate closely with the founder, working in a hands-on, non-hierarchical manner.

Qualifications

• 5–6 years of post-qualification experience in finance or accounting.
• Strong audit experience is essential.
• Prior experience handling finance functions within a company is preferred.
• Exposure to team management and leadership.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or business environment is advantageous.
• Educational qualification: CA (Chartered Accountant) or equivalent.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MIS tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a lean, dynamic setup with a hands-on approach.
