BA with Ingenium (Insurance Specialist)
Job Summary
The BA with Ingenium (Insurance Specialist) is responsible for managing and enhancing the Ingenium Policy Administration System by collaborating closely with business users and internal technical teams. This role involves requirement gathering, analysis, documentation, testing, and implementation of system changes, ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards. The position contributes to optimizing insurance processes and supporting business objectives through effective system improvements and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Work on Ingenium (Policy Administration System) to implement changes and enhancements as requested by business users.
- Actively participate in requirement gathering, gap analysis, feasibility studies, and prepare functional/design documents.
- Liaise with business users and internal development teams to translate requirements into technical/design documents.
- Identify, develop, and execute continuous improvement opportunities within insurance processes and systems.
- Review delivered solutions for quality, accuracy, and adherence to requirements.
- Develop detailed implementation project plans in conjunction with team members.
- Perform sanity testing for key projects and critical enhancements.
- Audit team processes and procedure documents to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Support end users during acceptance processes and oversee migration activities.
- Ensure seamless handover to maintenance teams post-production deployment.
- Provide walkthroughs to business users, development, and testing teams during project progress.
- Guide other IT application teams on changes in core and workflow applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology/Engineering (B.Tech/B.E).
- 5–12 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Indian Insurance Industry.
- In-depth hands-on knowledge of Ingenium (front end/back end) or similar life insurance policy administration systems.
- Strong understanding of insurance business processes (New Business, Underwriting, Policy Servicing, Claims, Products, Actuaries).
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Strong SQL skills with a good understanding of database structures.
- Experience creating functional requirements and design documentation.
- Experience working with cross-functional and large organizational teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Insurance certifications from organizations such as LOMA (Life Office Management Association) or III (Insurance Institute of India).
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks and methodologies.
- Exposure to JIRA for project and issue management.
- Experience in business analysis best practices within the insurance domain.
- Knowledge of insurance workflow applications.
- Ability to coordinate across teams and clarify requirements effectively.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in business analysis within the insurance industry, with exposure to Ingenium or similar policy administration systems.
- Experience dealing with cross-functional teams and large organizational environments.
- Candidates with over 10 years’ Ingenium experience or deep expertise in life insurance policy administration systems are highly preferred.
