Job Summary

The API Testing Engineer will be responsible for testing RESTful web services, ensuring the quality of software applications through effective testing practices, particularly in an Event Driven Architecture (EDA) environment. This role is crucial for the development of robust, high-quality applications that align with the organization's goals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive API testing, focusing on REST APIs and microservices.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using REST Assured and other tools.
• Create and manage test plans, including test automation and failure mode tests.
• Collaborate within an agile team while implementing test-driven development processes.
• Utilize continuous integration tools such as Jenkins for build automation.
• Estimate effort and size of features to support project planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on technical experience, particularly with Java.
• Extensive experience testing RESTful web services using REST Assured and POSTMAN.
• Proficient in unit testing tools, specifically Cucumber BDD.
• Familiarity with various software testing aspects, including test planning, automation, and failure mode testing.
• Proficient in using source control systems, especially Git, and bug tracking systems in a collaborative environment.
• Strong understanding of agile development methodologies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience testing microservice architectures and Event Driven Design frameworks.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools such as K6, JMeter, or LoadRunner.
• Knowledge of mocking tools like Mockito, WireMock, or Microcks.

Experience

• 6+ years of relevant experience in software testing, particularly in API and microservices testing.

Environment

• The work setting is hybrid, located in Bengaluru at Iris building, Embassy Tech Village Rd, Devarabisanahalli.
