Key Responsibilities: • Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies. • Establish policies, procedures, and strategies for the function & strengthen the Supplier evaluation process. • Utilize category and market analysis to create a supply strategy that will maximize long-term opportunities and competitive advantage. • Deliver a collection that resonates with the diverse communities across India. • Focus on sustaining profitability with high growth in a high margin business. • Maximize long-term commercial opportunities and minimize areas of risk, acting on performance analysis, sound judgement and change management. • Take accountability for delivering a balanced and considered range against planned financials. • Identify opportunities to improve inventory asset utilization to drive sales and margin for the businesses. • Analyses trading patterns, challenge and advise teams to ensure appropriate action is taken. • Assisting with marketing and sales strategies to ensure high throughput. • Monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear outs etc • Inventory maintenance is crucial to a store’s daily operations, so merchandise buyers must be always aware of inventory levels. They manage the whole gamut of inventory processes, including stocking, rotating, and discarding products. • Generating and presenting analytical reports such as market research, price comparisons, and cost analyses. • Maintaining cordial relationships with all stakeholders to uphold our reputation and to promote our endeavors in the most fair & ethical way • Directly manages complex negotiations with key suppliers & also ensuring supplier adherence to contracts Key Requirements: • Master’s degree in business/ operations, or related field. • 12-15 years of experience in buying & merchandizing and atleast 4 years of leading a team. • Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask.
