Solar Ladder is a full-stack supply chain and financing platform for solar installers, providing Software (SaaS), financing, and procurement solutions to solar installers and their end customers. The company's goal is to help solar installers increase solar adoption by automating and simplifying ancillary functions and focusing on the expansion of setting up solar panels. The organization is based in Andheri East, Mumbai.

Job Summary

The Finance Director will oversee internal financial analysis and provide strategic financial input to support the growth of Solar Ladder. This role involves working closely with the founders to achieve company goals and ensure solid financial management practices are in place.

Responsibilities

• Create internal metrics to evaluate customers seeking credit for purchases on the platform.
• Assist in or fully develop the annual budget, leveraging historical data to inform decisions.
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to guide business decision-making.
• Mentor and manage the accounting and financial staff to enhance team performance.
• Identify efficiencies and opportunities for cost reductions across the business.
• Ensure proper approval and coding of invoices in the general ledger.
• Monitor and balance cash flows to meet obligations and optimize investments.
• Coordinate with external financial, compliance, and tax auditors.
• Develop and monitor company policies and internal controls, especially regarding spending.
• Administer loan agreements for company borrowings and collect debts owed by customers.
• Develop financial strategy, including risk minimization plans and opportunity forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, tax provisions, and relevant regulations.
• Prepare company tax and financial statements.
• Set up banking relationships and partnerships with Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs).

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CFO, finance officer, or in a relevant role.
• In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
• Excellent understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
• Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., SAP) and MS Office.
• Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
• Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• An analytical mindset, comfortable with numbers.
• Chartered Accountant (CA) is a strong advantage.
• Bachelor's Degree (BSc/BA) in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field; Master's Degree (MSc/MBA) is a plus.

• Experience in the solar industry or related fields would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of specific financial software solutions tailored for the renewable energy sector.

Salary

• Salary: ₹3,000,000 - ₹4,000,000 annually.
