Job Description: Architect – Software<br /> Development Engineer in Test (SDET)<br /> Overview<br /> We are seeking a highly experienced SDET Architect with 10+ years in automation, test<br /> frameworks, and test architecture. This role goes beyond writing scripts—it’s about<br /> envisioning, designing, and governing enterprise-level test automation platforms that<br /> ensure product quality across web, mobile, API, performance, and security layers.<br /> As an Architect, you will play a strategic role in shaping testing practices, mentoring<br /> engineering teams, and embedding quality engineering principles into every stage of<br /> development. You will influence not just automation strategy but also overall engineering<br /> excellence, scalability, and release confidence.<br /> Key Responsibilities<br /> ● Architect, design, and implement scalable automation frameworks (UI, API, Mobile,<br /> Performance).<br /> ● Define and govern test automation standards, guidelines, and best practices<br /> across the organization.<br /> ● Partner with Dev/QA/DevOps teams to integrate automation seamlessly into CI/CD<br /> pipelines.<br /> ● Mentor and guide SDETs, lead design/code reviews, and drive a strong automationfirst<br /> culture.<br /> ● Define and drive non-functional testing strategies (performance, reliability, security).<br /> ● Evaluate emerging tools and AI-driven test practices, introducing innovative solutions<br /> such as self-healing and intelligent test selection.<br /> ● Define strategies for test data management, virtualization, and cloud-based test<br /> environments.<br /> ● Provide automation-driven quality insights for release readiness and risk<br /> assessment.<br /> ● Ensure high test reliability and reduced flakiness to build confidence in automated<br /> suites.<br /> ● Collaborate with development teams to ensure unit and integration tests with high<br /> coverage.<br /> ● Manage test environments and dependencies effectively.<br /> ● Communicate test progress, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders.<br /> ● Act as a thought leader by staying updated on emerging technologies, tools, and<br /> industry practices.<br /> Product & Business Alignment<br /> ● Understand our products from both a technical and business perspective within the<br /> context of the larger organization.<br /> ● Provide feedback and technical insights to improve product solutions, tools, and<br /> platform capabilities.<br /> ● Collaborate with engineering leadership to continuously improve automation, CI/CD,<br /> and quality practices.<br /> Qualifications<br /> ● Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.<br /> ● 10+ years in software testing/automation, with 4+ years in architect/lead capacity.<br /> ● Strong programming in Java, TypeScript/JavaScript (preferred), or C#.<br /> ● Hands-on with Selenium, Appium, Playwright, REST Assured, JUnit/TestNG.<br /> ● Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).<br /> ● Cloud experience: AWS, Azure, GCP, and test infra providers (BrowserStack, Sauce<br /> Labs).<br /> ● Strong foundation in OOPs, design patterns, distributed systems, and scalability.<br /> ● Familiarity with test management/collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, Git, TFS).<br /> Technical Skills<br /> ● Programming Expertise: Strong in Java or TypeScript/JavaScript with solid<br /> understanding of OOPs and design patterns<br /> ● Frameworks & Tools: Deep hands-on knowledge of Selenium, Appium, Playwright,<br /> REST Assured, and other automation frameworks.<br /> ● CI/CD & DevOps: Experience integrating automation into Jenkins, Azure DevOps,<br /> GitHub Actions, or AWS pipelines.<br /> ● Cloud & Infrastructure: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, and cloud-based test<br /> infrastructure (Sauce Labs, BrowserStack).<br /> ● System Architecture: Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and<br /> performance.<br /> ● Test Coverage Areas: UI, API, Mobile, Database, Cross-browser, Performance, and<br /> Security testing.<br /> ● Versioning & Collaboration: Git, TFS, Jira, Confluence, and agile/DevOps practices.<br /> Preferred Qualifications<br /> ● Proven track record of designing enterprise-wide automation strategies across<br /> products/units.<br /> ● Experience establishing Automation Centers of Excellence (CoEs).<br /> ● Hands-on with security testing practices and tools.<br /> ● Exposure to AI/ML-driven testing tools, intelligent test orchestration, and self-healing<br /> frameworks.<br /> ● Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.<br /> Why Join Us?<br /> This is an opportunity to:<br /> ● Take ownership of the automation vision at scale.<br /> ● Influence engineering direction and quality strategy for the organization.<br /> ● Work with modern tools, AI-driven frameworks, and cloud-first test infrastructure.<br /> ● Ensure products meet the highest standards of quality, scalability, and<br /> performance.<br /> ● Shape the future of quality engineering and mentor the next generation of SDETs.
