Job Summary
The Key Account Manager (KAM) – Investor Relations at PedalStart is a client-centric role focused on managing and nurturing relationships with high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), angel investors, and family offices. The primary goal is to leverage existing investor networks to facilitate capital deployment into early-stage startups. The role involves understanding investor preferences, maintaining high engagement levels, and driving investment commitments, all while supporting PedalStart’s broader mission of startup acceleration and funding.
Responsibilities
- Act as the dedicated account manager for PedalStart’s existing network of angel investors, HNIs, and family offices.
- Develop a deep, structured understanding of each investor’s preferences, risk appetite, cheque size, sector bias, and investment thesis.
- Maintain regular, high-touch engagement through portfolio updates, investment summaries, and one-on-one strategy discussions.
- Manage end-to-end capital commitment workflows, from initial interest expression to soft commitment and final deal execution.
- Participate actively in internal onboarding and training programs to master key startup sectors, valuation metrics, and investment terminology.
- Translate complex startup business models, market dynamics, and traction metrics into clear, relatable narratives for investors.
- Ensure high investor satisfaction, trust, and retention across multiple funding rounds.
- Identify cross-investment opportunities and encourage repeat investments into PedalStart’s cohort startups.
- Track engagement metrics, response rates, and pipeline conversion using internal CRM systems and Excel.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3 to 6 years in Wealth Management, Private Banking, Relationship Management (Priority/Imperia/Wealth divisions), or Financial Advisory.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional spoken and written English communication skills; ability to present high-stakes financial opportunities with clarity and confidence.
- Investor Empathy: Strong understanding of investor psychology, wealth management goals, portfolio allocation strategies, and risk thresholds.
- Learning Agility: Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technology sectors, emerging business models, and startup valuation mechanics.
- Execution Focus: Self-driven team player with a proven track record of managing client portfolios and achieving relationship/capital deployment targets.
- Educational Qualifications: Relevant degrees such as BTech, BSc, MBA, or equivalent financial certifications.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in startup ecosystems, venture capital, or early-stage investing.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and pipeline management.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of sectors like SaaS, FinTech, D2C, DeepTech, HealthTech, etc.
Experience
- 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in wealth management, private banking, or financial advisory roles.
- Proven experience in managing high-net-worth client relationships and capital deployment.
Environment
- The role is full-time and on-site based in Bangalore.

Salary
- The estimated salary range is INR 15-24 LPA, with 60-80% fixed and the remaining as variable performance-based incentives.
