Job Summary

As the Team Lead in General Accounting, you will report to the Accounting & Reporting Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to lead a team focused on the accurate and timely completion of bank reconciliations and related accounting activities within the General Accounting team, ensuring compliance with both internal and external regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the Bank Reconciliation Services (BRS) team, ensuring timely recording of bank transactions in the Central Finance (CFIN)/ERP systems.
  • Coordinate with business, Treasury, and Payroll teams to address unallocated transactions and prevent carryover into subsequent months.
  • Maintain and monitor exchange rate uploads in ERP systems and reconcile monthly exchange rates as per Control (CAR) requirements.
  • Review reconciled General Ledger (GL) accounts using group tools.
  • Oversee knowledge transfer (KT) and handle accounting activities from transitioning countries to the Bangalore hub.
  • Standardize accounting processes across all business clusters.
  • Implement newly developed programs to enhance accounting processes across clusters.
  • Address internal and external audit queries by providing necessary clarifications and supporting documentation.
  • Initiate quality improvement initiatives within the accounting processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in general accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and processing journal entries.
  • At least 5-10 years of experience specifically in Bank Reconciliation activities within a large organization.
  • Proven experience in Record to Report (R2R) processes.
  • Flexibility to work various shift timings.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of SAP is essential.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a multinational corporation and familiarity with diverse accounting systems.
  • Advanced skills in financial software and data analytics.

Experience

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in general accounting, with significant exposure to reconciliation and journal entry processes.
