<p>Role Overview</p>
<p>The Head of Engineering will own the end-to-end delivery, reliability, and scalability</p>
<p>of Marg Books.</p>
<p>This role is meant for a hands-on technology leader who can lead by example —</p>
<p>coding when needed, resolving technical bottlenecks, ensuring fast bug resolution, and</p>
<p>maintaining high product stability as usage scales.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate has deep expertise in .NET Core, Angular, SQL, Azure, and CI/CD</p>
<p>(Jenkins), and thrives in balancing speed, quality, and stability.</p>
<p>Key Responsibilities</p>
<p>1. Delivery Excellence</p>
<p>• Ensure on-time and high-quality delivery of all product releases.</p>
<p>• Drive structured sprint planning, code reviews, and release discipline.</p>
<p>• Monitor and improve release velocity, QA pass rates, and production uptime.</p>
<p>2. Hands-on Technical Leadership</p>
<p>• Serve as the technical anchor for the team — capable of reviewing code,</p>
<p>resolving complex issues, and mentoring developers.</p>
<p>• Troubleshoot critical production issues, performance bottlenecks, and</p>
<p>scalability challenges directly.• Stay deeply involved in architecture decisions, enforcing best practices in</p>
<p>design and coding standards.</p>
<p>3. Platform Stability & Performance</p>
<p>• Build and maintain a stable, secure, and scalable system as user base and</p>
<p>transaction volume grow.</p>
<p>• Drive a proactive approach to bug tracking, resolution, and regression testing.</p>
<p>• Ensure mean time to resolution (MTTR) for bugs and issues is continuously</p>
<p>reduced.</p>
<p>4. Retention & Reliability Focus</p>
<p>• Own the engineering metrics that drive customer satisfaction and retention</p>
<p>(>80%).</p>
<p>• Partner with Product and Support teams to address recurring issues, improve</p>
<p>response time, and eliminate root causes.</p>
<p>• Establish strong monitoring, alerting, and rollback mechanisms to maintain</p>
<p>uptime and prevent disruptions.</p>
<p>5. Team Leadership & Culture</p>
<p>• Lead a 30–50 member engineering team across backend, frontend, QA, and</p>
<p>DevOps.</p>
<p>• Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.</p>
<p>• Coach engineers and tech leads on architectural thinking and problem-solving.</p>
<p>Required Skills & Experience</p>
<p>Technical Expertise</p>
<p>• Proven, hands-on experience (10–15 years total; 5+ years in leadership) working</p>
<p>with:</p>
<p>o .NET Core / C# – Backend APIs, performance tuning, and architecture.</p>
<p>o Angular – SPA design, modular UI, and client-side optimization.</p>
<p>o SQL Server – Database design, optimization, query performance.</p>
<p>o Azure Cloud – App Services, Functions, Storage, Security, Monitoring.</p>
<p>o CI/CD with Jenkins – Automated builds, testing, and deployment</p>
<p>pipelines.• Strong understanding of scalable SaaS architecture, caching strategies, and</p>
<p>API integrations.</p>
<p>• Experience building multi-tenant enterprise applications preferred.</p>
<p>Leadership & Delivery</p>
<p>• Proven ability to lead engineering teams in shipping reliable software on time.</p>
<p>• Data-driven approach to tracking performance, delivery timelines, and issue</p>
<p>resolution.</p>
<p>• Strong debugging, performance optimization, and system troubleshooting skills.</p>
