Job Summary

The Technical Writer will be responsible for generating and maintaining a variety of documentation including Installation and Deployment Guides, Operations Manuals, Application and UI User Manuals, API Reference Manuals, Training Manuals, and Online Help. This role plays a crucial part in communicating complex technical information clearly and effectively, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Author and maintain comprehensive Installation and Deployment Guides and Operations Manuals.
  • Create User Manuals, API Reference Manuals, Training Manuals, and Context Sensitive Help.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to ensure accurate interpretation of technical data and specifications.
  • Produce associated graphics and assist in creating marketing collateral and RFPs as needed.
  • Conduct thorough research and ensure the clarity and accuracy of all documentation.
  • Edit and review technical content for improved clarity, impact, flow, and readability.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in technical writing.
    • Proficiency in using industry-standard documentation tools such as AsciiDoc, Adobe RoboHelp, Arbortext Editor, and Oxygen.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication, research, organization, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
    • Strong command of technical terminology with the ability to write in a simple and concise manner.
    • Expertise in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and photo editing tools like Adobe Photoshop.
    • Experience in writing API manuals is a must.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with technical writing for non-telecom and non-aviation domains.
  • Experience with creating external and internal documentation for technical products or systems.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in the field of Technical Writing, specifically focusing on the standards and tools mentioned.

Environment

  • The position is based in Bangalore with a hybrid work model, allowing for both remote and in-office work.
