Cyber Security Engineer

Job Summary

The Cyber Security Engineer will play a critical role in protecting the organization's systems and networks from cyber threats. This position involves designing and implementing security measures, performing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with security policies to protect sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security protocols to safeguard information systems.
• Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability testing, and penetration testing.
• Collaborate with IT teams to enhance security measures and mitigate risks.
• Maintain documentation related to security procedures and incidents.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends and technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and security information and event management systems (SIEM).
• Proficient with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of network protocols and system architectures.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud security and cybersecurity tools.
• Familiarity with scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).
• Previous experience in incident response and threat hunting.

Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in cyber security or related fields is preferred.
