We are seeking a results-driven Portfolio Operations Manager to work closely with our investment and leadership teams in driving value creation across portfolio companies and new investments. The role will involve working directly with management teams of Portfolio companies to improve performance, implement best practices, track KPIs, and support strategic and operational initiatives. The individual will play a key role in ensuring portfolio companies deliver sustainable growth and maximize returns for the fund.
The individual also will lead Commercial and Operating diligence workstreams in new deals and develop Value Creation Plans for new businesses.
This is a hands-on role involving close working with the company’s CEO, CXOs and other managers and requires developing good working relationships with them.
Key Responsibilities
Leading Commercial Diligence and Operational Diligence for new investments
- Work with investment teams to validate revenue projections, market-entry strategies, and business plans for new deals
- Lead market and competitive assessments to understand industry size, growth opportunities and benchmark target’s positioning
- Conduct deep-dive assessments of target’s operations, including Sales/BD, supply chain, manufacturing functions and assess scalability of organization to support business growth
Value Creation Planning for new investments
- Develop value creation plans (VCPs) for new investments
- Conduct assessments to identify EBITDA improvement levers across revenue growth, margin enhancement, cost optimization
- Translate high-level strategic themes into detailed, measurable initiatives with ownership, timelines, and KPIs
Performance Monitoring & Value Creation
- Partner with portfolio company leadership to identify and implement operational improvements.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs), financial and operational dashboards.
- Conduct regular reviews of portfolio company performance and provide actionable insights.
- Support cost optimization, revenue enhancement, and efficiency improvement initiatives.
Strategic Support and Driving outcomes
- Assist management teams with business planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Support strategic initiatives such as new market entry, product launches, and digital transformation.
- Help in preparing exit readiness strategies, including process optimization
Governance & Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting from portfolio companies to Everstone
- Participate in portfolio company board/management meetings and provide operational insights.
- Drive adoption of best practices in compliance, governance, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with the investment team to prepare portfolio review materials for internal committees and investors.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with portfolio company leadership teams and functional heads.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to CEOs/CFOs/COOs on operational excellence.
- Collaborate with external consultants, advisors, and industry experts on value-creation projects.
Experience, Skills, Qualification
- MBA/CA/CFA or equivalent with strong academic background.
- 3-4 years post MBA experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, operations, or private equity/venture capital portfolio support.
- Preference for consulting experience in sectors such as, Pharma, Healthcare or IT or individuals having strategy experience within those industries
- Strong understanding of financial statements, business drivers, and operational levers.
- Proven experience in driving performance improvement and business transformation initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work in fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
