Our client is seeking a dynamic Trade Marketing Manager to lead the planning and execution of trade marketing strategies across General Trade (GT) channels in India. The company operates in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector and values revenue growth, brand presence, and long-term trade relationships.
Job Summary
The Trade Marketing Manager will be pivotal in driving revenue growth, strengthening brand presence, enhancing profitability, and building long-term trade relationships. This role involves close collaboration with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure effective market execution, distribution, and visibility for the product portfolio.
Responsibilities

Trade Marketing Strategy & Execution:
- Design and implement trade marketing promotions and programs across regions and channels.
- Build activity calendars and ensure seamless execution with regional trade marketing and sales teams.
- Track performance via dashboards/automation tools and refine strategies based on insights.

Partner Engagement & Loyalty Programs:
- Plan and execute loyalty programs to align trade partners with business goals.
- Conduct regular business reviews to ensure performance and strategic alignment.

Market Expansion & Development:
- Support portfolio model store initiatives and regional expansion strategies.
- Strengthen relationships with wholesalers, retailers, and distributors.

Visibility & Merchandising:
- Plan and oversee Point of Sale Materials (POSM) sourcing, visibility drives, merchandising activities, and vendor management.

Cost & Compliance:
- Manage trade marketing budgets and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Conduct data-driven analysis to assess Return on Investment (ROI) and optimize activities.

Team Training & Development:
- Lead training, motivation, and performance tracking for front-line teams (Sales Executives, Sales Representatives, merchandisers, third-party manpower).
- Drive continuous improvement through coaching and corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Science graduate
- Experience:
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in trade marketing, specifically within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or Over-The-Counter (OTC) industries.
- Skills:
- Strong commercial and business acumen.
- Proven expertise in operational excellence, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Skilled in data analytics, reporting tools, and project management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in managing complex marketing campaigns and trade relationships.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and techniques.
Experience
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in trade marketing, preferably in FMCG/OTC sectors.
Environment
- The typical work setting involves extensive travel across regions for market engagement, meetings, and collaboration with various stakeholders, including retailers and distributors.
