Job Summary

The Solace Engineer will perform engineering, configuration, and administration activities for Solace messaging systems, contributing to the middleware engineering team. This role is essential for defining and implementing event-driven strategies, ensuring robust system security, and automating processes for improved operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering, configuration, and administrative activities for Solace messaging systems.
• Architect and deploy messaging infrastructure using Solace PubSub+ / Advanced Event Mesh across cloud environments.
• Define and implement event-driven strategies, leveraging Solace features such as event mesh and dynamic routing.
• Configure Solace components like brokers, VPNs, queues, topics, and client connections for optimal performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate Solace with microservices, APIs, and external platforms (e.g., Kafka, JMS, MQTT).
• Troubleshoot complex messaging issues including latency, throughput, and durability concerns.
• Automate setup and monitoring processes using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Provide Level 3 support including incident resolution and root cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience:

  • Total of 5+ years of experience in relevant roles.
  • 1-2 years of experience specifically in Solace.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Solace Messaging.
  • Knowledge of Cloud environments, preferably AWS.
  • Scripting skills using Korn Shell Scripts, Perl, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of RedHat Linux platform.

• Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and support IBM MQ and IBM ACE.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with other messaging technologies like TIBCO and IBM MQ.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, EKS, or OpenShift.
• AWS certifications on DevOps, SysOps, or Architect track preferred.

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in engineering and administration of messaging systems with at least 1-2 years specifically on Solace.

Environment

• Typical work setting may involve collaboration within a middleware engineering team, likely in a hybrid office environment, with potential remote work options.
