SAP Data Archiving Consultant

Job Summary

The SAP Data Archiving Consultant will play a pivotal role in implementing and managing data archiving solutions within the organization. The consultant will be responsible for conducting workshops, designing solutions, configuring archiving objects, and ensuring the smooth integration of OpenText solutions with SAP. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of SAP systems, contributing to the overall goals of data management and system performance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct data archiving analysis workshops and prepare blueprint and solution design documents.
  • Configure and develop archiving objects and establish links with content servers.
  • Perform regular maintenance, backups, and system copies as part of SAP ECC Basis Administration.
  • Liaise with business users to understand requirements and deliver solutions, manage system testing, defect management, and UAT signoff.
  • Handle impact assessments and solutions for change requests, suggest upgrades in support packs/enhancement packs.
  • Manage major incidents (P1 & P2), prepare cutover plans/RFC for implementation, and build documentation for supported applications.

Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: Expertise in SAP Data Archiving, OpenText ECM, OpenText Archiving and Document Access, and OpenText Data Archiving for SAP Solutions.
  • SAP Experience: Proven track record on SAP ECC and S/4 HANA, experience with SAP ILM, and integrating OpenText solutions with SAP ERP.
  • Knowledge of SAP Modules: General knowledge of main SAP modules like FICO, HR, SRM, and SCM.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and oral communication skills in English.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying issues and providing solutions.
  • Education: Degree level education/BE and SAP certification in Information Lifecycle Management (ILM).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the utilities industry.
  • Additional experience with S/4 HANA.

Experience

  • 8-10 years of overall experience in SAP data archiving.
  • Full life cycle project implementation and configuration of data archiving.
  • Experience in support projects and using SAP standard tools like Maintenance Planner.

Environment

  • Location: Hyderabad / Bangalore
  • Work setting: Primarily in-office with extended support on a need basis.
  • On-call support for high-severity calls during out-of-business hours/weekends.
  • Involvement in critical project delivery windows, potentially requiring late evening work.

Salary

Budget: 25 LPA
