HR, IR & Operations Leader (Blue-Collar Workforce)

Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on HR Leader with strong experience in managing large blue-collar workforce environments, specializing in Industrial Relations and managing union ecosystems. This role necessitates high ownership, strong on-ground execution, and the ability to manage operations across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Workforce & Operations

    • Drive manpower planning and ensure seamless workforce deployment across sites.
    • Maintain operational continuity and readiness for new site launches.
    • Manage attrition and ensure timely backfills.
  • Payroll, Compliance & Administration

    • Oversee payroll, attendance, and billing processes.
    • Ensure statutory compliance and adherence to policies.
    • Manage employee benefits, settlements, and welfare initiatives.
  • Hiring & Deployment

    • Lead bulk hiring and build a strong pipeline of trained manpower.
    • Drive onboarding and deployment across locations.
  • Industrial Relations

    • Manage union interactions and labor matters.
    • Handle disputes and ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Training & Performance

    • Drive training initiatives across safety, discipline, and customer handling.
    • Strengthen performance management and productivity.
    • Minimize operational escalations through strong execution.
  • Stakeholder Management

    • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
    • Manage audits, compliance requirements, and escalations.
  • Process & Digitisation

    • Drive process improvements and digitisation initiatives.
    • Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure adherence through regular reviews.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Strong experience in blue-collar workforce management; proven exposure to Industrial Relations & union handling.
  • Skills:
    • Hands-on experience in payroll, compliance, and operations.
    • Strong execution-driven and operational mindset.
    • Ability to manage multi-location environments.
    • Fluent in English & Hindi.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance people, compliance, and business priorities.
  • Comfortable operating in dynamic, high-pressure environments.

Experience

  • Previous leadership experience in HR, Operations, or related roles, particularly in managing blue-collar workforce environments.

Environment

  • This role is based in Mumbai and may require travel to various operational locations.
