Job Summary
The Business Finance role focuses on conducting in-depth inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis within the finance function. The position aims to provide insights into inventory trends, direct (material, labor, and overhead), and indirect costs to inform finance and operations leadership, ultimately contributing to the organization's financial performance.
Responsibilities

Inventory Management
- Lead the forecasting and budgeting processes for inventory and associated costs.
- Monitor and analyze raw material (RM), work in progress (WIP), and finished goods (FG) inventory levels, turnover rates, aging, and obsolescence.
- Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to synchronize inventory levels with sales forecasts and production plans.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track production efficiency and reduce waste.
- Identify opportunities for inventory optimization, cost reduction, and process improvements.
- Support accounting and controllership teams during physical verifications and audits.

COGS Analysis
- Analyze and report on COGS components, including material, labor, and overhead variances, across footwear product lines, brands, and factories.
- Collaborate with costing and controllership teams to develop and refine standard costing models and inventory valuation.
- Create cost tracking tools and dashboards to enhance visibility into cost trends and margin drivers.
- Identify opportunities to enhance profitability and cost efficiency.
- Evaluate the financial impact of supply chain disruptions, tariffs, and raw material price fluctuations.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support executive decision-making, including assessments of new projects.
Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and costing in a manufacturing environment.
- MBA, Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing and inventory valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO, weighted average) and manufacturing cost flows.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage ambiguity.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and excellent communication skills across departments.
- Proficient in Excel modeling and familiar with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and data consolidation.
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is advantageous.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in financial modeling and data analysis using advanced Excel functions.
- Understanding of industry-specific financial metrics and requirements.
Experience
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in finance, specifically in FP&A and costing roles within the manufacturing sector.
