Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Vendor Development candidates to join our dynamic team in the Supply Chain domain of a Banyan Nation company. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in identifying, developing, and managing relationships with vendors to ensure a sustainable and efficient supply chain for our plastic recycling operations. The Vendor Development candidate will focus on building a network of suppliers committed to environmental sustainability, innovation, and quality for the Organisation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Vendor Identification and Qualification:
   • Research and identify potential vendors in aligned market specializing in the supply of waste plastics raw materials and adding value to the raw material.
   • Conduct thorough assessments of potential vendors, considering factors such as environmental credentials, supplying capabilities, and adherence to quality standards.
2. Negotiation and Contract Management:
   • Negotiate favourable terms and conditions with vendors to secure a stable supply of raw materials while maximizing cost-effectiveness.
   • Draft, review, and manage vendor contracts, incorporating environmental sustainability and quality benchmarks.
3. Sustainability and Compliance:
   • Ensure that vendors align with the company's sustainability goals, including the use of eco-friendly materials and ethical business practices.
   • Monitor and enforce compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
4. Quality Assurance:
   • Collaborate with the Quality team to establish and maintain stringent quality standards for required raw materials.
   • Implement quality control processes and work with vendors to continuously improve the quality of supplied materials.
5. Relationship Building:
   • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors while actively seeking opportunities to expand the vendor network.
   • Work closely with vendors to understand their capabilities, capacities, and potential for innovation supplying the raw material to organisation.
6. Market Analysis and Trends:
   • Stay abreast of market trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in plastic recycling.
   • Provide recommendations for adapting the vendor development strategy to leverage new opportunities and address industry challenges.
7. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
   • Collaborate with internal teams, including Operations, Logistics, and Compliance, to ensure seamless communication and coordination in the supply chain.
   • Address any operational issues or concerns related to vendors promptly and effectively.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in vendor development, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the plastic recycling industry.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and evolving industry.
• Ready to Travel within the region as needed and should be comfortable with field work.
