Deal Origination :

- To identify and originate transactions that would fit into the investment fund's investment framework based on leveraging industry relationships

- Cultivate and maintain relationships with all stakeholder within the venture ecosystem, from start-up founders/team, to venture funds to PE funds & strategics

- Conduct research and build thesis on sectors/sub-sectors to identify trends and attractive investment opportunities

- To attend/represent the firm at industry and sector specific conferences/conclaves Investment Evaluation

- Analyse and diligence potential investment opportunities identifying key business metrics

- Carry out industry and competitive landscape research to best assess any opportunity

- Present thesis and build consensus within investment committee for decision making

 

Deal Closure :

- Assess and structure transactions and negotiate documentation to minimize risk, maximize the potential rights and protections and pathway to exit

- Manage new and existing investor relationships to aid deal closure

 

Investment Monitoring :

- Serve on Advisory Boards/Nominee Directors of portfolio entities, as required, representing the fund's interests in accordance with the principles of sound corporate governance

- Work closely with portfolio companies to add value supporting operations and growth

- Monitor financial performance on a quarterly basis and provide regular updates to the investment committee

 

Fund Management :

- Structure and negotiate exits

- Oversee support team to ensure timely compliance of the fund

 

Stakeholder Management :

- Support fund raising activities of the fund and build relationships with existing and perspective investors

- Take the role of team leader and supervise the work of team members in executing deals

- Supervise the performance of reporting staff, providing clear direction and regular monitoring and feedback on performance

 

Knowledge Sharing :

- Collaboratively help shape the fund's investment frameworks for decision making

- Ensure the on-going learning and development of team members

- Participate in and contribute to relevant internal and external sessions, training and conferences

 

Reporting relationships :

- The ideal candidate will be responsible leading the Venture Fund and will be reporting directly to the Investment Committee and Partners

- The ideal candidate will lead/supervise a team of 2-3 investment analysts and support staff to oversee all fund related activities
