Job Summary

The Design & Development Manager/Head is responsible for leading the design, development, validation, and customer interaction for various cooling systems, ensuring compliance with OEM requirements, quality standards, and project timelines. The role focuses on heat exchangers, engine oil coolers, transmission oil coolers, fuel coolers, charged air coolers, and radiators.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product engineering from concept to validation for thermal management products.
• Design and develop oil coolers, charged air coolers, and radiators.
• Perform and review design calculations, thermal analysis, and validation results.
• Independently manage multiple development projects with OEM customers.
• Directly interact with customer research and development (R&D) teams for design reviews and issue resolution.
• Oversee prototype development, testing, post-test analysis, and reporting.
• Support manufacturing processes, Design for Manufacturing (DFM)/Design for Assembly (DFA), and production readiness.
• Ensure compliance with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Statement of Requirements (SOR)/Engineering Statement of Work (ESOW), engineering systems, and IATF/TS standards.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of product engineering experience in automotive components.
• Strong knowledge of internal combustion (IC) engine systems; experience in electric vehicle (EV) or hybrid systems is preferred.
• Proven experience working with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as TATA, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Renault-Nissan, Ford, and Volkswagen.
• Exposure to various vehicle types, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles (CVs), tractors, two-wheelers, and generator sets.
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) & Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools; Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) experience is mandatory for thermal roles.
• Knowledge of prototyping, product testing, and manufacturing processes.

• Leadership experience in product design and development within an automotive context.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience

15–20 years of relevant product engineering experience in the automotive sector.

Environment

The role is based at the manufacturing plant located at Plot No. A-20, Navlakh Umbre, Talegaon MIDC, Taluka Maval, Pune, Maharashtra. The facility spans 5 acres and employs approximately 200 people, including 50 staff and 150 operators.

Salary

The budget for this position is set at 22 LPA (Lakhs Per Annum).
