Job Summary

We are looking for a Java and Springboot API Engineer to join our remote team. This role is dedicated to developing and managing APIs, ensuring robust performance and functionality, and contributing to the overall goals of the organization. The engineer will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure the delivery of quality code through adequate testing.
• Monitor and troubleshoot API performance issues and optimize for improved efficiency.
• Implement security measures and manage data protection protocols within the API environment.
• Participate in Agile methodologies and contribute to continuous improvement processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in software development, specifically with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of RESTful services and API design principles.
• Experience with database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL.
• Proficient in version control systems, particularly Git.
• Familiarity with cloud services and microservices architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., Angular, React) would be a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
• Understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
