Job Summary
We are seeking a Data Warehouse Engineer with a strong background in the insurance domain to manage our Microsoft-based data warehouse. This role involves integrating various systems and leveraging tools such as Snowflake, Power BI, and AI for delivering actionable insights that inform decision-making and strategy.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the Microsoft-based data warehouse using SQL Data Warehouse/Azure Synapse Analytics and SQL Server.
- Utilize Snowflake for cloud-based data warehousing, performing SQL querying and data sharing.
- Handle integration and data ingestion from both internal systems and external sources, including APIs and third-party data extracts.
- Implement best practices for data quality, governance, and lifecycle management.
- Create engaging dashboards and reports using Power BI to facilitate business insights.
- Apply AI methodologies and tools, such as Python or Azure Machine Learning, for predictive analytics and automation tasks.
- Coordinate with offshore delivery teams, ensuring effective communication and project management.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years as a data analyst, with a focus on the insurance domain.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Microsoft data tools (e.g., Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, SQL Server).
- Proficiency in using Snowflake for data warehousing tasks, including SQL querying.
- Strong skills in Power BI for visualization and reporting.
- Experience with data integration and ETL processes using tools like SSIS or APIs.
- Familiarity with AI tools and concepts (e.g., Python, Azure Machine Learning).
- Soft Skills:
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate with offshore teams.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
Preferred Skills
- Certifications such as Microsoft Azure Data Engineer or Snowflake SnowPro would be a bonus.
- Familiarity with insurance data terminology (e.g., policies, premiums, claims, risk) to effectively manage and analyze datasets specific to the industry.
