Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Job Summary

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be the senior-most technology leader, responsible for shaping and executing the company’s technology vision. This role will focus on driving the rapid international expansion of Marg Books, ensuring the org is architecturally robust and cloud-ready, and building an ecosystem of integrations to make Marg the platform of choice for businesses globally.

Responsibilities

• Marg Books – Global Expansion Focus:

  • Define and execute the technology roadmap for global scale, supporting multi-country deployments, localization, compliance, and integrations.
  • Build a cloud-native, high-availability architecture to support rapid user growth internationally.
  • Lead product engineering to ensure world-class usability, security, and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with Product & Business teams to tailor solutions for international small-to-medium businesses (SMBs), accountants, and enterprises.

• Marg ERP – Modernization & Cloud Transformation:

  • Re-architect ERP for efficiency, modularity, and integration-readiness.
  • Transition ERP towards cloud-based subscription models, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and recurring revenue.
  • Ensure ERP product is positioned as a global-grade enterprise solution.

• Other Products – Ecosystem & Integrations:

  • Develop robust APIs and integration frameworks to connect Marg with banking, fintech, e-commerce, and logistics partners.
  • Enable seamless data exchange and interoperability across Marg’s ecosystem and third-party platforms.
  • Standardize technology practices across the entire product suite.

• Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead a world-class engineering team that delivers innovation at speed.
  • Establish engineering excellence, agile delivery, and global best practices.
  • Drive technology partnerships to accelerate international adoption.
  • Ensure cybersecurity compliance and data privacy across products.
  • Stay ahead by adopting AI/ML, cloud-native technologies, and modern architectures.
  • Act as a thought leader and technology evangelist with customers, partners, and global stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience:

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in senior technology leadership roles.
  • Proven track record in scaling Software as a Service (SaaS) products internationally.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong expertise in cloud architecture, microservices, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), security, and multi-tenant systems.
  • Experience with ERP, accounting, or enterprise software systems is a strong advantage.

• Soft Skills:

  • Inspirational leader with the ability to align technology with the business vision.
  • Ability to build global-ready teams and foster collaborative relationships.

• Educational Qualifications:

  • A related degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field is preferred.
