Salesforce Data Migration Specialist

Job Summary

The Salesforce Data Migration Specialist is responsible for planning, executing, and managing the migration of data into Salesforce environments. This role involves ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and seamless transition from legacy systems to Salesforce. The specialist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver successful data migration projects aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing data sources and legacy systems to develop effective migration strategies.
• Design, plan, and execute data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes into Salesforce.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity during all phases of the migration.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and Salesforce administrators to align migration activities with project requirements.
• Resolve data discrepancies, handle data cleansing, and troubleshoot migration issues.
• Document processes, methodologies, and lessons learned for ongoing improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce data architecture and objects.
• Proficiency with ETL tools (such as Informatica, Talend, MuleSoft, or similar).
• Knowledge of data mapping, data cleansing, and data validation techniques.
• Experience with SOQL (Salesforce Object Query Language) and data loader tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Data Architecture and Management Designer or Salesforce Administrator.
• Experience with large-scale data migration projects.
• Familiarity with Apex, Visualforce, or Lightning components.
• Knowledge of data security and compliance best practices.
• Experience working in Agile project environments.

Experience

• Relevant experience in data migration, preferably involving Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
• Experience with ETL tools and managing end-to-end data migration cycles.
• Experience with cross-functional project teams is a plus.

• Typical office environment with collaboration across multiple teams and stakeholders.
