Oracle Cloud Payroll Functional Consultant
Job Summary
The Oracle Cloud Payroll Functional Consultant is responsible for configuring and maintaining the Oracle Cloud Payroll module components to ensure seamless payroll operations. This role involves comprehensive payroll functional configuration, taxation and compliance oversight, and financial integration to support accurate and efficient payroll processing. The consultant will play a key role in managing payroll runs, ensuring adherence to tax regulations, and troubleshooting payroll costing discrepancies, contributing to the organization’s overall financial integrity and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain Oracle Cloud Payroll module components, including payroll definitions, balance definitions, fast formulas, costing setup (element-level and department-level), and payroll flows.
- Manage and troubleshoot payroll runs, retroactive calculations, and year-end processing to ensure timely and accurate payroll delivery.
- Ensure payroll configurations comply with local, state, and federal tax regulations, and monitor updates related to tax legislation.
- Support tax reporting processes, including W-2 year-end filing, quarterly, and periodic remittances.
- Configure and troubleshoot payroll costing allocations and account combinations in Oracle HCM, ensuring accurate accounting through validations and reconciliation reports.
- Analyze costing discrepancies in collaboration with ERP systems and recommend corrective actions to maintain financial accuracy.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in Oracle Cloud HCM Payroll, with a focus on U.S. payroll functionality.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll taxation, including handling multi-state tax scenarios.
- Proven experience in payroll costing configuration and reconciliation.
- Experience in full-cycle Oracle Cloud Payroll implementation projects is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Familiarity with payroll compliance and tax reporting requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with third-party tax filing and garnishment services (e.g., ADP, Equifax).
- Experience with third-party timekeeping systems (e.g., Kronos).
- Knowledge of related Oracle modules such as Benefits and Compensation.
- Experience with Agile/Waterfall methodologies and comprehensive project documentation.
Experience
- 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in payroll functional configuration, Oracle Cloud Payroll implementation, and troubleshooting complex payroll processes.
