Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Financial Control & Compliance will strengthen Anveshan's financial governance framework by driving the implementation of Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR), managing internal financial controls, overseeing statutory audits, and ensuring compliant financial reporting. This role collaborates closely with business teams, auditors, tax consultants, and finance operations to facilitate accurate reporting and robust internal controls, and offers significant exposure to senior management, investors, and external auditors.
Responsibilities

Financial Control & Governance
- Implement and continuously improve Internal Financial Controls (ICFR).
- Identify and close control gaps by reviewing accounting processes and recognizing weaknesses.
- Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across finance and operational processes.
- Monitor compliance with Delegation of Authority (DOA) and company policies, reinforcing maker-checker controls.
- Conduct periodic balance-sheet reviews and ledger scrutiny.

Financial Reporting
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
- Review journal entries, provisions, accruals, and balance-sheet schedules for accuracy.
- Ensure timely and accurate finalization of financial statements and supporting schedules under applicable standards.
- Enhance the quality of month-end closing timelines and reporting.

Audit Management
- Coordinate statutory, internal, tax audits, and limited reviews.
- Build audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants.
- Track audit findings and facilitate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Internal Audit & Risk Management
- Maintain and update the Risk Control Matrix (RCM).
- Conduct control testing and walkthroughs.
- Identify opportunities for improvements through operational and financial process reviews.

Compliance
- Ensure adherence to the Companies Act, Accounting Standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with reviews for Goods and Services Tax (GST), Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), Income Tax, and statutory compliance.
- Coordinate with the Company Secretary for corporate compliance activities.
- Maintain the finance compliance calendar for timely statutory deliverables.

Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities to automate finance functions.
- Drive enhancements and improvements for the ERP system.
- Standardize documentation and reporting, embedding best practices in financial governance.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory; pursuing a Company Secretary (CS) qualification is an added advantage.
- Experience: 2–3 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in FMCG, Food & Beverage, Consumer Goods, Manufacturing, Retail, or Direct-to-Consumer (D2C).
- Auditing Experience: Experience in Big 4 firms or top consulting with a focus on Audit or Risk Advisory is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS).
- Hands-on experience with Statutory and Internal Audits, ICFR, and Internal Financial Controls.
- Working knowledge of the Companies Act, GST, TDS, and Income Tax compliance.
- Background in financial statement preparation and balance-sheet review.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Zoho, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in automation of finance processes and ERP enhancements.
- Familiarity with financial governance best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience
