Functional testing, Android OR automotive testing platform

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated professional to perform manual functional testing of new software features on vehicles, ensuring a smooth user experience (UX) and robust performance. This role involves close collaboration with the software development team to design and execute unique test scenarios, provide detailed feedback, and maintain high-quality standards across vehicle and mobile app interfaces. The candidate will own test planning, execution, and documentation to deliver a seamless end-to-end customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual testing of new software features on vehicles to validate functionality and UX.
• Plan, prepare, and execute detailed test scenarios based on software changes.
• Conduct end-to-end testing to ensure high-quality customer experience from vehicle systems to mobile applications.
• Collaborate closely with software development teams to understand features and prepare unique testing scenarios.
• Provide clear, detailed feedback and root cause analysis to development teams.
• Maintain and regularly update the regression test suite.
• Execute testing at both component and system levels, including black box and white box testing.
• Own test planning, execution, and diligent documentation of test cases and results.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of testing Android-based applications and their user interfaces.
• Experience with API testing methodologies.
• Understanding of automotive communication protocols such as CAN (Controller Area Network) and UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services).
• Demonstrated extreme ownership mindset and proactive problem-solving skills.
• Ability to deeply explore features and implementations to identify automation opportunities.
• Excellent clarity in thought and communication when providing feedback.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to identify subtle issues ("needle in a haystack").
• Skilled in writing clear, comprehensive solution documents that facilitate team collaboration.
• Educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with automotive testing platforms or embedded systems testing.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks and scripting.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Experience

• Relevant experience in manual functional testing of Android applications or automotive software platforms.
• Experience working in hybrid work environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Salary

• Estimated salary: ₹2,700,000 INR per annum
