Job Summary

The IBM Websphere Administrator will be responsible for managing, configuring, and supporting IBM WebSphere Application Server environments, both on-premise and in cloud settings. The role demands expertise in WebSphere administration, cloud technologies, and Java programming to ensure the high availability, security, and performance of application deployments. This position is crucial for maintaining robust middleware infrastructure, supporting business-critical applications, and enabling seamless integration with cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain IBM WebSphere Application Server environments.
  • Administer, monitor, and optimize WebSphere cloud implementations, ensuring security and high availability.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using AWS CloudFormation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application server performance, deployments, and connectivity.
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support Java-based application deployments.
  • Document configurations, procedures, and best practices for WebSphere environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as an IBM Websphere Administrator.
  • Proficiency in IBM WebSphere Application Server administration (installation, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting).
  • Experience with IBM WebSphere Cloud technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS CloudFormation and cloud infrastructure concepts.
  • Proficient in Java programming for application support and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation.
  • Familiarity with other cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • IBM WebSphere certification(s) or relevant AWS certifications.
  • Experience with load balancing, clustering, and high-availability configurations.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in IBM WebSphere administration, including both on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting Java applications in enterprise infrastructures.
  • Prior experience working with AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure automation.

Environment

  • Flexible work location: Kolkata, Mumbai, or fully remote.
  • Full-time, contractual position.
  • Standard office hours with occasional after-hours support for critical incidents or deployments.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
