Data Architect

Job Summary

The Data Architect will act as the second-in-command within the new data department, playing a crucial role. This position will involve both hands-on technical responsibilities and leadership roles, ensuring effective governance and operational management of foundational data work essential for the organization’s transition into a structured data environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver end-to-end data platforms, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead the execution of a comprehensive data strategy while building and managing the data team.
  • Oversee the foundational work related to data collection from eight different data sources.
  • Collaborate with various business stakeholders to scope and prioritize data projects effectively.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with data quality, governance, and security standards in a real-world environment.
  • Interface with senior leadership, plant managers, and external vendors to facilitate effective communication and project execution.

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in data architecture and/or data engineering.
  • Proven experience in leading data teams in an Agile or Scrum environment.
  • Strong background in designing and delivering end-to-end data platforms beyond individual pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of data quality, data governance, and data security principles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience engaging with business stakeholders to scope and prioritize data projects.
  • Exposure to industrial, manufacturing, mining, or energy environments is a strong advantage.
  • Proficient with both Cloud and on-premise data systems.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies, AWS, and Databricks.
  • Flexible and solution-oriented with strong soft skills to navigate existing management structures.
  • Politically savvy, able to manage relationships effectively across teams.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in data architecture or data engineering.

Environment

This role will be based in Maharashtra, with a focus on the company's operational locations. The work environment will involve collaboration with various teams to establish a new data framework.
