Job Summary

KR Capital is seeking a Senior Operations Engineer to own and maintain the firm’s reference data and operational technology infrastructure. This role focuses on managing security master workflows, identifier harmonization, and operational data integrity in close collaboration with fund accounting and operations teams. Additionally, the Senior Operations Engineer will support broader operational technology initiatives across Finance, Compliance, and other business functions.

Responsibilities

  • Own ingestion, normalization, tagging, QA, and reconciliation of reference data and securities identifiers (e.g., Bloomberg identifiers, CUSIP, FIGI, Capital IQ), including managing identifier changes driven by corporate actions, especially for equities, futures, and options across US and international markets.
  • Design and maintain crosswalk/symbology mapping systems linking instrument, company, issuer, and legal entity data models across vendor and internal datasets, ensuring reliable joins to support downstream workflows.
  • Own integration of Bloomberg Data License/API and vendor feeds, including arbitration across sources.
  • Implement and monitor ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines for operational and reference datasets.
  • Build and maintain corporate actions processing and audit trails to ensure consistent time series and reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with operations/fund accounting teams to ensure daily accuracy and reliability of data workflows, including reconciliations.
  • Support adjacent operational technology initiatives (e.g., FinOps, compliance, alternative data crosswalks).

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in reference data management, operations technology, or securities data environments.
  • Strong understanding of US and international securities identifiers and data models.
  • Required: Experience with Bloomberg Data License and Bloomberg APIs.
  • Proficient in SQL and Python for ETL and data processing.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Postgres, or similar databases.
  • Strong operational judgment and attention to data integrity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in buy-side or sell-side operational environments is preferred.
  • Beneficial: Prior exposure to options, futures, and US corporates.
  • Corporate actions processing expertise is a plus.
  • Experience working with order management or trading systems (FlexTrade, Enfusion) preferred.

  • Familiarity with financial regulation and compliance standards.
  • Previous exposure to alternative data sources.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

5+ years of relevant experience in reference data management, operations technology, or securities data environments.

Environment

  • Location: In-office in Mumbai, India (5 days per week).
  • Hours: India workday with 3-4 hours overlap with US Eastern Time.
  • Team Structure: Works with Operations/Fund Accounting and Engineering to maintain reference data and operational workflows.
