Performance Test Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Performance Test Engineer with over 5 years of hands-on experience in performance testing large-scale on-premises and cloud-native applications. In this remote position, you will design, implement, and maintain performance test frameworks while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal system performance. Your expertise in performance testing tools, analytical skills, and effective communication will directly contribute to improving application performance and overall system reliability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive performance testing strategies that align with project goals.
• Design and plan performance test scenarios and test cases, establishing clear objectives and success criteria.
• Configure and manage test environments to closely replicate production setups, collaborating with IT and DevOps teams.
• Execute various performance tests—including load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests—using tools such as JMeter and Neoload.
• Monitor system performance during tests by capturing key metrics (response time, throughput, resource utilization) and analyze results to identify bottlenecks.
• Provide actionable recommendations for performance optimizations, mentor junior testers, and lead performance testing initiatives within the CI/CD pipeline.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in performance testing for large-scale on-premises and cloud-native applications.
• Proficient in performance testing tools including JMeter and Neoload.
• Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTTP/HTTPS protocols, RESTful APIs, and SOAP.
• Experience with web development frameworks and tools such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues.
• Strong communication skills for effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with continuous performance testing practices within modern DevOps environments.
• Experience mentoring junior team members and leading project initiatives.
• Knowledge of additional performance testing frameworks and automation tools.

Experience

• A minimum of 5+ years of hands-on performance testing experience, specifically with large-scale on-premises and cloud-native applications, REST APIs, and web services.
