Job Summary
The Product Designer will own the end-to-end experience of WealthIQ. This role is crucial in building trust with clients through a seamless design that encompasses everything from initial onboarding to the management of complex financial portfolios. The Designer will evolve the company's premium design system, ensuring that complex information is presented clearly, honestly, and effortlessly.
Responsibilities
- Design the core user journeys including onboarding, account linking, consolidated wealth views, goals conversations, managed-portfolio experiences, and reporting interfaces.
- Own and develop the design system, focusing on components, patterns, typography, data visualization, and mobile-first, accessible layouts.
- Transform dense financial data into clear and legible representations, maintaining a strong hierarchy and adhering to regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct lightweight research and usability testing to inform design decisions based on insights from clients and managers.
- Prototype interactions and collaborate closely with engineering teams to deliver pixel-accurate and accessible experiences on both mobile and web platforms.
- Collaborate with product teams on workflow designs and acceptance criteria, ensuring compliance with disclosures and consent requirements.
- Contribute to branding and marketing efforts that intersect with product design.
Qualifications
- Mandatory experience in wealthtech or fintech, with a background in designing for investment products such as smallcase, Kuvera, Scripbox, Groww, Zerodha, INDmoney, or dezerv.
- A minimum of 4 years product design experience, showcasing a portfolio with shipped, end-to-end projects, ideally in complex, data-rich environments.
- Strong skills in interaction and visual design alongside the ability to build and maintain a cohesive design system.
- Expertise in data visualization and structuring information hierarchies to communicate complex numerical data in a calm and clear manner.
- Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma), with hands-on experience collaborating with engineers.
- A user-centered and research-informed approach, capable of defending design decisions through rationale.
- Understanding of mobile-first design principles and accessibility standards (WCAG-aligned).
Preferred Skills
- Direct design experience in investing, portfolio, or trading interfaces.
- Experience designing for both consumer-facing applications and internal operational tools.
- Skills in motion or interaction prototyping and basic front-end coding (HTML/CSS).
- Aesthetic sensibility leaning towards premium, restrained, and editorial visual design.
