JD: Quantity Surveyor

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor with experience in retail interior fitouts. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of fit out projects. This includes cost planning, value management, cost control, and cost forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Management:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for retail interior fit-out projects.
  • Monitor costs and use this information to forecast future financial needs.
  • Manage project costs to ensure that the project stays within budget.
• Contract Administration:
  • Draft, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure all project contracts are administered according to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Handle any contractual disputes or claims that may arise.
• Tendering and Procurement:
  • Prepare tender documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Assess and evaluate tender submissions.
  • Procure materials and services required for the project.
• Project Management:
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure work meets the project specifications.
  • Provide support to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare regular financial and progress reports for senior management.
  • Maintain accurate records of all project-related documentation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and prepare mitigation plans.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., RICS) is preferred.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on retail interior fit-out projects.
  • Proven track record of managing project costs and contracts effectively.
• Skills:
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using quantity surveying and project management software.
