VB6 Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled VB6 Analyst with over 5 years of hands-on experience in legacy Visual Basic development and Microsoft SQL Server. This contract role focuses on maintaining and enhancing VB4/5/6-based applications while incorporating object-oriented programming (OOP) principles to modernize legacy code. Ideal candidates should be available to join immediately or within 15 days and be comfortable working remotely.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, maintain, and enhance applications developed in Visual Basic 4/5/6
• Develop and optimize complex queries and stored procedures in MS SQL Server
• Work on integration, troubleshooting, and support of legacy applications
• Apply OOP principles for code enhancement and modernization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for requirement gathering and issue resolution
• Create and maintain documentation related to existing systems
• Support ETL processes (if applicable)

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in legacy Visual Basic (VB4/5/6) development
• Strong hands-on experience with MS SQL Server including query optimization
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Proven ability to analyze and debug legacy systems effectively
• Educational background in Computer Science or a related technical field (e.g., BSc, BTech)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ETL tools or processes
• Knowledge of Visual FoxPro

Experience

• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in legacy Visual Basic development and database management
• Demonstrated track record in supporting and enhancing legacy applications in a professional setting
