Product Engineer
Job Summary
The Product Engineer will be responsible for building high-quality simulations that are essential for training, evaluating, and improving AI agents. This role involves working collaboratively with Applied Researchers and subject-matter experts to create realistic environments that aid in the enhancement of AI models, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in AI development.
Responsibilities
- Develop Reinforcement Learning (RL) environments end-to-end, which includes frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, data models, and workflows using technologies such as React/TypeScript, Next.js, Python, and SQLite.
- Collaborate closely with Applied Researchers, subject-matter experts, and Quality Assurance (QA) specialists to ensure the simulations are realistic and accurate.
- Maintain a high standard for the internal tooling, identifying shortcomings, and helping to improve systems over time.
- Analyze task coverage, environment correctness, edge cases, and adversarial agent behavior critically.
- Utilize AI coding tools (such as Claude Code and Codex) effectively, proposing ideas for enhancements and new tooling.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (B.Tech), Master's Degree (M.Tech), or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a software engineer, full-stack engineer, product engineer, or in a similar role.
- Proven track record of owning complex products from ambiguous requirements through to production launch, ideally in a startup or a high-velocity team at a larger company.
- Experience with enterprise SaaS tools, understanding their behavior after years of user interactions, data processes, and operational constraints.
- Strong engineering judgment regarding system correctness, failure modes, edge cases, and adversarial behavior.
- A proactive mindset, willingness to learn, unlimited energy, and relentless optimism.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning, agent evaluation, verifiers, reward models, or machine learning infrastructure.
- Experience with browser automation tools such as Playwright or Selenium.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in software engineering or related domains.
